I created this for a final project for WACK, an art club I had the pleasure of participating in while I worked in Berkeley.

This phonebooth was based on a very real phonebooth I found at UC Berkeley's Sproul Plaza. For whatever reason, the phonebooths never got removed from the plaza, despite the fact that the Bay Area is generally one of the most tech forward places in the country. Not to mention their near irrelevance in this day and age.

What drew my eye, and what I aimed to replicate, was the interesting texture of the phonebooth I discovered. It was covered in graffiti, stickers, and whatever else the student population decided to stick on it. I thought it really seemed to capture the culture of Berkeley, one of counterculture despite the tech industry growing around it.

I covered my phonebooth with little nods and easter eggs to the various parts of my life during that time. It was a challenge getting everything looking just right but in the end, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.
